Join us in Sierra Vista in the heart of scenic Southeastern Arizona

Birders Vista Bed and Breakfast  is located only ten minutes away from the Ramsey Canyon Nature Preserve and the San  Pedro Riparian Area, central to internationally recognized key birding areas.  We are located eighty miles southeast of Tucson, Arizona.

Birders Vista is a quiet retreat at 4600 feet elevation with beautiful views of the Huachuca and Mule mountains. It is a stucco home on 4 acres, with reading library of 1500 books, cozy living room with fireplace, stereo, wireless high speed internet access, TV, VCR,  DVD and telescope for guests.

In season, you will find fresh flowers in your room and enjoy fresh fruit from the orchard on the north side of the house.  It is all organic fruit. We now have jelly from the great tasting organic plums.  Enjoy breads made from our pear, apricots, plums and apples.

Sit on the veranda or under the pergola in the backyard garden and enjoy the birds watching you as they come to feed.   We have around 25 species of birds on our four acres at any given time. See our Bird Sightings web page. Our backyard is wonderful this time of the year.   The monsoon arrived this year on June 26 bring with it  the afternoon showers which cool down the temperature.  The temperatures in July and August  in Sierra Vista are in the 80s at our location of 4600 feet.  Cooler temperatures occur in the mountains which rise to 9500 feet.

Backyard April to December                                                      Hummingbirds are here all year round

The paulownia and mimosa trees in front provide nice shade in the summer for the front veranda with great views from the bench looking toward the Huachuca mountains in the west.

The wide open skies of Arizona are an ever changing canvas composed of all those colors the Southwestern US is known for. Exceptional sunrises and sunsets are the norm for this area.  Halfway between 'here' and 'there' is the San Pedro Riparian area. The north flowing San Pedro river provides a riparian system migration highway for many species of birds. The Huachuca mountains to the west with a little late winter snow visible through the patches of cloud are the year around home to many birds, and the seasonal home to a world-class variety of hummingbirds. The many hiking trails adds to the attraction of these mountains for birders and hikers alike. Some of the birds obligingly nest in or near established campgrounds. This includes the Elegant Trogon in nearby Garden Canyon and numerous year-round hummingbirds in Ash Canyon.
