What some of our guests had to say:

Morning coffee on the deck as hummingbirds and Gambel’s Quail visit the feeders…and if you’re lucky, a Pyrrhuloxia.  A sumptuous breakfast with hosts Johnny and Audrey along with strangers rapidly becoming friends.  Afternoon tea (or coffee) on the backyard swing as hummingbirds swirl around you.  Flower gardens that delight the eye.  An evening visiting with Johnny and Audrey in their living room, or in your room reading, or, if you want, a night on the town.  This is what awaits you at the Birders’ Vista Bread and Breakfast in Sierra Vista .    Anne Roundy

Don, our daughter Judy and I recently spent a most relaxing weekend at the Birders' Vista Bed and Breakfast in Sierra Vista.  The accommodations were lovely, as you two have thought of every detail to provide a friendly and comfortable atmosphere for every guest.  Audrey, your wonderful breakfasts were a highpoint of our visit, along with the multitude of birds we enjoyed watching right in your beautiful back yard.  We would highly recommend this B&B for those looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway. Sincerely, Pat Schwenker

Thank you for your wonderful hospitality. We've never been to a place where our hosts were so eager and able to please us! Your back yard feeders are a treasure; we particularly enjoyed seeing the Bullock's Oriole for the first time. Also, your advice to go to Garden Canyon to see the Elegant Trogon really paid off. We'll certainly encourage our friends to stay with you when they're in the area. Thanks again. Gene and Gail Stephens, Columbia, SC.

We enjoyed our stay in SE Arizona, and appreciated the accommodations at Birders Vista. Your location is perfect for exploring the area. A very special thanks for taking us to see the Elf Owl. I must return sometime in April to pick up some of the Summer and migrating birds. I saw 105 species during our week in Arizona, and 25 were life birds for me. Hope you are successful with you B and B! Paul and Sandy Brubaker

Thank you again for being such wonderful hosts. Your hospitality couldn’t be topped! Paula Beavers

Birders Vista Bed and Breakfast is trying to be more environmentally conscious by being Green.

Guests will find towel and linen reuse program, low-flow toilets, water-saving showerheads. We have a Water Wise Certificate for saving over 16,000 gallons per year for replacing 5 gallon toilets with 1.2 gallon ones.. After adding a front loader washer using only 14.5 gal, we have saved another 6,000 gallons per year.

We use cloth napkins to conserve paper products and use recycled products where we can. Non breakable glasses are used in the bathrooms instead of plastic throw away cups and large multiple use containers of soap, shampoo and conditioner, instead of the small disposable ones.

Containers on site in the bed and breakfast for recycling - glass, plastic, paper, cardboard, and other items, by guests and ourselves. We compost all suitable food scraps.

We conserve electricity by using fluorescent bulbs in lighting fixtures. Energy Star appliances are used in the bed and breakfast. The windows are double paned energy efficient. Our hot water heaters are on timers to save electricity.

Birders Vista grows our own organic vegetables and fruits for our guests. Our breads are made from our organic pears, apricots, plums and apples. We also make our own organic plum jams and organic apricot preserves. Our gardening is done with composting and desert plants in the backyard hummingbird garden conserve water.

We try to buy local products, like our Organic Fair Trade Coffee, and other items from our weekly Farmers Market.

We are continuing with more conservation projects using water and electricity. We hope to have rain water harvesting for and solar power for the whole bed and breakfast in 2011.

We hope to improve our impact on the resources of the world and help educate others in some small way.

The living room for the guests includes a fireplace, 2 couches and a large chair, stereo, television, VCR and DVD players.
